12 - PROVIDING BASIC AMENITIES / FACILITIES

12.1. Water Supply:- IPH Department would provide water to the township as in other areas of the State. However, in case a new water supply scheme is to be set up or old scheme is to be augmented, the Government may ask the agency developing the new township to bear the whole cost or a part of the cost. The laying of various types pipelines within the new township would, however, be the responsibility of the developer of the new town. The developers will be free to have their own water supply scheme.

12.2. Sewerage System,Solid and Hospital Waste Management:- The developer will have to provide a sewerage system for the new township. He will also have to provide facilities for treatment of solid waste in a scientific manner.

12.3. Roads:- The developer will have to provide a road network within the township as required and as per specified norms.

12.4. Electricity:- HPSEB would provide electricity to the township as in other areas of the State. However, in case the system has to be laid or augmented, the developer may be asked to bear the whole cost or a part of the cost. The developer will be free to have his own power source / dedicated power plant and distribution net work.

12.5. Besides these, other facilities like telecommunication, post & telegraph, transportation and other inter town services will be provided by the respective agencies on the pattern of the rest of the State. Educational and Health Institutions may be developed by private parties on land kept for this purpose. However, Government may also be approached for these in case it is required. All other schemes and programmes of the Government or various autonomous institutions will be applicable to these areas on the pattern of the rest of the State.
