2.                    PAY SCALE: Rs. 3050-75-3950-80-4590

In addition the post will carry dearness allowance/ration money as admissible from time to time, free accommodation, free uniform, free medical facilities, free leave pass once in a year.

3.                    ELIGIBILITY

The required educational and physical qualification and other details are as under:

a)       Matriculation pass or equivalent Army qualification in case of Ex-Army personnel.

b)      The candidate should not be above 23 years and below 18 years of age as on 1.8.2001. However upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years in the case of SC/ST and 3 years in case of OBC candidates.

 5.                    HOW TO APPLY

Candidates belonging to Punjab aspiring for enlistment in CRPF should submit application to the Addl. DIGP, GC, CRPF, Jalandhar (Punjab), candidates of Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh to Addl DIGP, GC, CRPF, Rajiv Nagar, Gurgaon, Haryana in proforma at Appendix A duly filled by 15.12.2001. Applications received after this date will not be entertained.

 b) Candidates belonging to following districts may either send their application directly to aforesaid centre (GC, CRPF, Pinjore), or can drop their applications in the boxes placed in the office of concerned District Magistrate by 15.12.2001.

c)       The correct address of recruitment centre and date of recruitment will be intimated to the candidates through call letters by the concerned application receiving Group Centres.

d)       The applications must be accompanied by the following documents:

i)        Attested copies of certificate as proof of educational qualification, date of birth, NCC, Sports, Scout and Guides and any other qualification.

ii)       One recent passport size photograph shall be affixed on the application duly attested.

iii)     Two self addressed envelope along with passport size photograph.

iv)     Caste certificate in respect of candidate belonging to SC/ST/Adivasis/Dogras from Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar.

v)      OBC certificate from Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar in the proforma attached at Appendix B.

vi)     Postal order worth Rs. 20/- (non refundable) (for General and OBC candidates only) in favour of Addl. DIGP, Group Centre where application for recruitment is being submitted payable at respective GPO of that Group Centre, CRPF. No postal order is required in respect of SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen.

vii)   Domiciliary certificate from designated authorities of State.

viii)  Canvassing in any form or bringing outside influence will disqualify the candidate from appearing in test.

6.                    SELECTION PROCEDURE 

a)       After scrutiny of application, eligible candidates will be issued with call letters to appear before the selection board on date and place mentioned in the call letter.

b)      All such candidates who have been issued with call letters shall bring originals of all documents attached by them with their application.

c)       PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST

Eligible candidates will be requested to appear in physical efficiency tests as under:

i) Long Jump                      11 feet
ii) High Jump                      3
1/2 feet
iii) One mile race                to be completed in six and half minutes

                                                Female

i) 800 metres race        to be completed in 4 minutes
ii) Long Jump              9 feet
iii) High Jump              3 feet 

Failure in any of the physical efficiency test will result in elimination at that stage. Minimum 15 marks must be secured by each candidate to qualify in physical efficiency test.

Note: No physical efficiency test (PET) will be held for Ex-Servicemen at the time of their recruitment in CRPF. However, Ex-Servicemen will be required to appear in written examination, interview and medical examination. 

d)      WRITTEN TESTS

Candidates who qualify in physical efficiency test will appear in written test as under:

Part ‘A’ Objective Type:
i) General Knowledge ii) Science
iii) Numerical aptitude iv) Test of reasoning etc.
Part ‘B’ Descriptive type questions in the form of letter/essay writing of about 100 words in Hindi or English and descriptive questions of a general awareness and environment.

Minimum pass marks will be 35% for General & Ex-Servicemen and 33% for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

e)       MEDICAL EXAMINATION

The candidates who qualify in physical measurement, physical efficiency test and written examination shall be medically examined.

f)        INTERVIEW

Those found successful after medical examination shall be interviewed. Thereafter, categorywise merit list shall be drawn and appointment shall be made in the order of merit according to the number of vacancies allotted.

g)      In case the candidate so appointed in the Force seeking resignation/discharge as per rules, shall be required to refund to the govt. a sum equal to three months pay and allowances or cost of training imparted to him whichever is higher.

h)      Candidates will have to appear for the selection test at their own expenses and risk and no TA/DA will be admissible. They should also make their own arrangements for stay during the course of test.

i)        The Department will not be responsible for any accident or injury sustained during the course of test.

j)        Candidates appointed will be liable to serve anywhere in India. 

CONDITION FOR EX-SERVICEMEN 
a)       Ex-Servicemen who have put in not less than six months continuous service shall be allowed to deduct such period from the actual age and if the resultant age do not exceed the maximum age limit (i.e. 23 years) by three years, they shall be deemed to have satisfied the condition regarding age limit.
